Beach Day

I was taking a walk on our favorite beach one sunny, early spring day and a group of seagulls caught my attention. They reminded me of people on a beach, each one was doing something different, and yet they all looked the same. My favorite one is the one that is longingly looking at the ocean. Reminds me of myself 🙂

I am a mom of two, lover of art 🙂
I, too, identify with the longing seagull, looking at the ocean. She’s slightly removed from the crowd, comfortable not doing anything, but watching the waves, the water. Perhaps she’s searching for another creature out there? A dolphin, seal, or whale? My favorite sea creature is an otter. Perhaps there’s one beyond–playing!
Thank you for your artwork and your way of seeing this everyday scene. It brings me right down to the beach which I hoped to get to–but didn’t today.
I am obsessed — obsessed — with your brush strokes!! Those seagulls, those waves, that sand. Beautiful! I suppose the one I am drawn to is the seagull staring almost straight behind him as I am currently reflecting on my past, trying to figure out who the heck I am. Perhaps your seagull is, too.
