All week, I have been retracing the steps, the walks I took with Jesse every morning for twelve years. These photos show where I have sprinkled some of her ashes. Some of her favorite places and mine. Consider this a journey–a map–of where one has let go of her beloved dog, Jesse. Her remaining ashes will go in the backyard and in a ceramic vessel. I’m almost there. It’s hard letting go.
If you look closely, you can see a white cloud in the water at “Dery’s Pond.” (in Fair Haven Fields)
